Annual Conference of the German Society of Urology

More than 6300 urologists from Germany and a wide range of other countries attended the 68th Congress of the German Society of Urology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Urologie e.V. (DGU)) from September 28th to October 1st 2016 at the Congress Center in Leipzig, Germany. The annual event is Germany’s most important urological conference and globally the third biggest congress of its kind.

This year, its motto was „economy – medicine – quality“. Reflecting the wide spectrum of tasks in urology, more than 160 scientific lectures offered new insights on current research and therapy. This year’s focus was amongst other topics on immune therapy in cancer of kidney and bladder as well as visualization of prostate cancer.
However, it wasn’t only doctors who came to the congress center. Patients could get information on current therapeutic approaches, the „decision aid for prostate cancer“, as well as preventive care options. The initiative “urologist for a day” provided the possibility for roughly 100 graduate students to learn more about the professional profile of an urologist. Last not least, more than 800 nurses attended the simultaneous congress for urological nursing.
Congress attendees visiting the industrial exhibit had the chance to get acquainted with the latest developments and products of pharmacy and medical technology. The Fertilovit® team was present with a booth as well, informing about the possibilities to support male fertility patients with state-of-the-art supplementation using Fertilovit®Mplus.
